Argutus Medical is a world leader in the development and manufacture of a range high-quality diagnostic microtitre ELISA Kits and Rapid Tests. Argutus was formed as a spin out from Biotrin in 2008 and has an experienced team of R&D scientists and manufacturing technicians to deliver a complete range of site specific constitutive and up-regulated kidney injury biomarkers.
The combined use of these biomarker-based test kits with traditional Serum Creatinine measurement has a number of advantages:
• Ability to specify the site of the kidney injury
• Ability to measure nephrotoxicity earlier than Serum Creatine alone
• Improve drug development & patient care
Currently available ELISA Tests & Rapid Tests for acute kidney injury detection:
KIM-1 – An early indicator of damage to the proximal tubules
NGAL – An early marker for damage predominantly to the distal tubules
Collagen IV – Increases during a variety of renal pathologies including diabetic nephropathy
Alpha GST – A revised version of our popular Nephkit. Alpha GST is a marker specific for injury to proximal tubules
Pi GST – A biomarker specific for distal tubular injury
L-FABP – A prognosis biomarker in kidney diseases

Since 2010 Argutus Medical has been part of EKF Diagnostics, a global healthcare diagnostics company. This deal has allowed Argutus Medical to continue focus on biomarker discovery and development of novel biomarker assays from their facility in Dublin, Ireland.
